Learning continues daily at Lakeview!

Students are engaged in rigorous academics in both virtual and hybrid formats. 52% of Lakeview families chose the hybrid format with two days per week of in-school learning, while 48% of our families chose to continue in the 100% virtual format for the remainder of the year.  If you have concerns about your child’s format, please contact our office to speak with us or to have your child’s name placed on a waiting list for possible changes.

Independent learning time is not “free time!” Students in virtual classes have independent learning either in the morning or afternoon, and students in hybrid classes have independent learning on their off-campus days. This is still important learning time! If your child is struggling to stay engaged during independent learning, please contact your child’s teacher for suggestions. If in doubt, emphasize reading! This is the single most important skill for students – one that leads to success in all other areas. Have your child read a story, a website, or an article to you, and support them in making reading fun and joyful.

This is “crunch time.” It’s time for all of our students to make strong academic growth.  Please support your child by setting aside dedicated schoolwork time, encouraging them when things are difficult, and maintaining high expectations. Growing our brains is like exercise! The hard work and struggle pays off.

We stand ready to help ALL Lakeview students grow and succeed. If you have questions about your child’s learning, please contact their teacher, or call our school at 253-583-5320.

Sincerely,

Bob Richards
