Principal Message

Principal Bob Richards

Lakeview Families,

Our theme this year is Gratitude! Even in the midst of trials and stress, we have so much to be thankful for. Lakeview teachers start each day’s live online lessons with Social-Emotional Learning time – some call it a “Community Circle” – in which students are taught to focus on the positive, relate with kindness to each other, and resist negativity.

Here are a few things that we, your administrators, are grateful for:

  • A computer in the hands of every one of our 600 students! This was a long-held goal for Lakeview kids; the shift to online learning just sped it up!
  • Dozens of “hotspots” that have been distributed to families for online connectivity.
  • Caring, dedicated teachers who are learning new techniques to reach children.
  • Amazing support staff who answer countless questions, seek new resources, and find new ways to partner with families.
  • The folks at Caring for Kids, one of our community partners, who have donated over 300 backpacks filled with supplies for Lakeview students.
  • The resilience to take life’s challenges in stride. A year ago, none of us expected to do school this way. By working together, we are making the best of it!

What are you grateful for? Please discuss gratitude with your child, and partner with us to keep Lakeview a positive, healthy place for our children and community.

Sincerely,

Bob Richards
